At Presbytery Point, our commitment to providing an awesome camping experience begins with our staff. Our summer camp counselors are educators, college students and camp alumni with the expertise and dedication to offer the best possible instruction and attention to your child. Experienced, caring and dedicated, our summer camp staff brings energy and love to surround your child in a highly supportive and safe environment.

At the start of each season, new and returning counselors and volunteers participate in an orientation and a series of carefully planned training sessions, including First Aid and CPR Certification. Prior to hiring, all staff and volunteers are required to have criminal record and child abuse background checks performed along with strong recommendations from past experiences working with children.

We want to ensure that only the very best people are employed at Presbytery Point Camp. Our thorough hiring process reflects this below!

STEP 1: ARE YOU ELIGIBLE?

The staff and volunteers at Presbytery Point camps must have completed their first year of university/college and/or be at least 19 years old at the time of employment. (16 for lifeguards & kitchen assistants.)

STEP 2: COMPLETE AN ONLINE APPLICATION

Our online application is a great opportunity to show off your skills, experience and personality. We will be post our application January of 2024. Please email Director Peggy if you would like to talk about joining our staff prior!

STEP 3: PHONE INTERVIEW #1

When we receive your application, it is initially reviewed based upon what our staffing needs are at that time. After this determination you will receive a phone call from Peggy. This initial conversation is a chance to get to know each other and establish if working at Presbytery Point is logistically possible based on your skills and availability. You’ll also learn more about the specific position we are considering you for and additional job responsibilities.

The high standards we uphold during interviewing and hiring are an indication of our ongoing strive for safety during the summer. We will need three professional references and will run a state and national background check to ensure that you are suitable to work with children in a residential setting.
