Mission Trips

Presbytery Point Camp welcomes any adult or youth group that is interested in mission work at our camp, or assists with accomodations for those planning to do mission work in our nearby churches or community.  There are many opportunities to give of your time and talents.  Mission trips for projects at camp or offsite can be arranged by contacting our camp manager, Caron Christopherson, at (906)869-0925.

Mission projects on our camp list for 2016:

  • build and repair picnic tables
  • build shelves in Mackinac Lodge
  • refinish chairs and woodwork in Mackinac Lodge
  • varnish Fellowship Lodge floor 
  • build new benches for outdoor worship area (can be done offsite.  Call to ask for a copy of our
  • detailed bench plans.)
  • build frame for outdoor stage cover
  • work on drainage around cabins
  • masonry repair to seawalls at Point and deep dock

  • Earthkeepers II —  Marquette, MI

Mission projects completed at camp (2011 – 2015):                                                 

  • sanded and refinished the floor in our 100 year old Fellowship Lodge.
  • phase one: renovations to Manager’s Cabin
  • restored sand surface on volleyball court
  • built a shed for recycling storage
  • planted trees
  • phase two:  new room in Fellowship Lodge for Nature Center
  • complete staining of Gieser, Hamel and McConaughy cabins
  • maintenance work on Paddle Inn structure
  • re-roof Gieser cabin
  • natural landscaping near parking area
  • clean-up after major storm damage
  • insulation and drywall on south basement wall of Mac Lodge
  • painted Manager’s cabin
  • cleared, surfaced, and lit new parking area
  • built new entrance steps to Nature Center
  • finished required handrails to Fellowship Lodge
     

We are blessed by the many hands and hearts who make our work light, and for the fellowship of time spent with new and old friends as we join together in service!
